I don't know how much detail you're after, but Mode 4 is a NATO IFF standard. Unlike Modes 1, 2 and 3 it is encrypted. Also, unlike these other modes, it tends to only be interrogated very occasionally - eg. to verify identity before engaging the aircraft. If you want lots of detail there will be a NATO STANAG available describing it in its entirety. A Google search brings up quite a bit of information too: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22Mode+4%22+IFF Paul "Tobias Endrullis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Hi, > can anyone tell (explain) me how IFF mode 4 is working?
