Hi Karl, The collection of tools and techniques known as Lean are well proven to reduce leadtime and cost by taking waste out of the system. A number of companies in this area are pursuing a Lean implementation and have seen leadtime reductions of 50-80%. If you can produce an order in two days instead of three weeks, you will gain the flexibility to respond to demand. I suggest you go looking for a good Lean consultant and, in the meantime, get a copy of Learning to See: Value Stream Mapping to Add Value and Eliminate Muda You can get it from Productivity Press http://www.productivitypress.com/ Dan Karl Hemilton ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) writes: > I am working for an appeal manufacturing company and the customers are > pushing us to reduce lead times and increase flexibility.
