your right concrete blocks 18" or so squareon the outside and 17" or
so on the inside... with a keyway or some form of anti slip mechanism,
like mabye a 3" deep hole 1" in diameter that we mate 2 blocks
together and place a 6" #3 rebar and mortar the hole shut.
