Strang is a mathematician.

Penny;

You keep on referring to Strang instead of Strong. Am I missing someth8ing?

p.s. Strong also wrote the classic "Amateur Scientist" project column in
Scientific American.
It is wonderful and now available on CD.

Maybe so. But the the experimental physics book I remember was by STRONG as
indicated in the Amazon book blurb.

I think you are referring to John Strong, who was at Hopkins for a long time and wrote books on

"Procedures in Experimental Physics" and "Procedures in Applied Optics"

He and his lab had a lot to do with building spectrographic
instruments, especially for space applications.
