I gotta problem. I've had the instrumental analysis course abruptly dropped on me for the Spring semester. I naturally thought of Skoog first, but I can find nothing but bad reviews of the current edition. Apparently the current edition is sloppy and full of all sorts of howlers. Even Amazon displays lukewarm reviews and one outright condemnation. I know. This is nothing new. Even the introductory chem texts are put out in such a hurry or under such a budget squeeze that they read as if nobody proofed them. You don't get a lot for your $140 these days. So, I'm welcoming suggestions now. Any ideas? It's a 500-level nonlab survey course on modern analytical instruments, which is taught simultaneously in classroom, TV and internet. Typical enrolment is 20. Thanking you in advance. Bill Penrose
