I always thought alkyllithiums react with CO2 to form tertiary alcohols and Grignard reagents react with CO2 to form carboxylic acids. Then, I read some references that said alkyllithiums react with CO2 to form carboxylic acids. Anyone has any insight into this? -- Paul J.
