Does anyone know of any research, experiments or equipment in any temperature or pressure regime that have been preformed to convert CO2 to Graphite and O2? I am most interested in CO2 ==> C and O2, but 4CO2 to 2CO and 2C and O2 or similiar partial reactions would be dandy. I have seen NASA's links for CO2 to CO and O2 using fuel cells, and this is fine, but the entire point it so drive the reaction all the way to some form of carbon (graphite would be dandy). I read about an experiment that formed carbon nanotubes from CO and hydrogen feedstocks, but that sounded like the H2 was consumed in the process and that wouldn't work because all that is available is N2 and CO2, trace O2, trace CO in the gasses I am trying to remediate. The resulting carbon material can be slag, ash, dust, whatever, as long as it is not a gas. Energy cost is NOT a factor, but long life and low maintenance of the required equipment is of paramount importance. I also can consider epoxies but I can't seem to get good information on any epoxies that are temperature stable at the 500-600 deg C that would be required. I have been dooing some research at this time and this is sort of a hail amry, if anyone can help point me in the right direction I would be grateful. -G
