It could cause damage to something if it's a smart charger.  It won't be 
able to monitor the batteries correctly when the input voltage is 
surging up and down during the charge and sense cycles.

Just buy a new adaptor.  They're cheap.  You can even get a universal 
adaptor that runs off 90-230V.
