I am also worried about the same problem. However, I think that batteries 
are "not removable by user" but they can indeed be removed and changed by 
the assistance. At what cost? That's the problem. There is company which 
sells batteries (with instructions) for people who want to do that by 
themselves. 50$ apiece, roughly, if I remember correctly. It doesn't seem 
too difficult but I am not looking forward to try...
