Sample preparation given in E30 is quite involved ...
First Nitric ... then HCl ... then Perchloric ... lots of cooking the sample
...
Then more HCl ... and Sulfurous Acid to reduce the Se to metal ... recover that
by filtration (asbestos cloth - probably the reason for the withdrawal) ...
Dissolve in Nitric ... Ammoniate to remove Iron traces ... Reacidify ... then
KI and an iodometric titration ...
