Animal feed?
I do not understand how a non caloric sweetener is useful for such
fodder application. Are animals supposed to be on diet?
Rakanka or Lo han fruit is known as source a non caloric sweetener.
http://www.google.com.au/search?q=cache:TGGJ0RTUyfIJ:www.wcommerce.com/FrutSweet/Summary.PDF+rakanka&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
called as
Mogroside
http://www.chinanaturalproduct.com/Mogrosides.htm
The active component responsible for sweetness.

Stevioside and Mogroside has cancer inhibitory properties
http://www.iupac.org/publications/pac/2002/7407/7407x1309.html
It has more many uses.
http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/articles/momordica%20croom.html
It is even marketed as sweetening agent
http://www.jarrow.com/products/lohansweetherb.htm
http://www.coastherbal.com/slim_sweet.htm
Even used for medicinal purposes
http://members.aol.com/greenmagik/LoHanKuo.htm
Therefore this artificial sweetener has more use than just for animal
feed.
If this material is considered toxic there was no known reference for
that
It is even quoted in US patents number
6,461,659,( non-hydroscopic sweetener)
6,124,442( process for extracting triterpene glycoside)
5,411,755( process and composition of sweet juice from cucubitae)
and 9 patents more related to this material.
