Hello! I represent a new online job board serving Western Canada and we have been approached by a client to find a Senior Fish Habitat Biologist. The position is located in Calgary. This is the job description as posted on our site (www.HGcareers.com): Responsibilities: As a Senior Fish Habitat Biologist, the candidate will be expected to: · Initiate and manage projects; supervise and train junior staff; · Liaise with clients and develop business; present and represent clients at meetings; prepare proposals and reports; · Perform advanced data analysis and application of method/techniques including statistics; · Conduct fish and fish habitat evaluations for various types of developments including power, mines, oil and gas facilities and pipelines; · Develop fish habitat no net loss strategies/habitat compensation plans and prepare fish and fish habitat environmental impact assessments. Requirements: Our client is a strong advocate of the team approach to undertaking projects and problem solving. Accordingly, the candidate will be expected to interface with and work in multi-disciplinary teams in which the contribution of each member is equally valued. · A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree, plus 15 years experience; or a Master of Science Degree, plus 10 years experience. Desirable Skills: · Consulting industry experience with extensive working knowledge of fisheries requirements related to industrial developments and their impacts; · Must have excellent technical writing, communication and project management skills; · Qualifications to register with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists or the Association of Professional Biologists of BC. · Strong working knowledge of aquatic ecosystems within Western Canada and the Arctic.
