opportunity (for individuals) to cope with life-situationally concurrent and
past adversities (that causes neuropsychophysiological tension) in an
tension releasing (relatively safely and enjoyably - and even socially
'cementingly' and conflict 'preventingly' - so) way.

(Apropos which, to actually reproduce/having sex is THE most fundamental
evolutionary opportunity; and the potential for doing/having "it" is THE
most basic "opportunity-type evolutionary pressure" that I can think of.)
