Hi .. I don't know if anyone in this list has experience with continuous tick cells lines, but I thought that I would try anyway. I am trying to find out if there are any described methods for the expression of heterologous proteins in continuous tick cell lines. I would like to express proteins from Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever virus using plasmid expression constructs. Can these cells be transfected using CaPO4, lipid reagents, or electroporation? Will mammalian promoter system work in these cells types like CMV, SV40, etc? Alternatively, are there any recombinant virus expression systems available? I hope someone out there can help or can point me in the correct direction.
