Your insect is a Leaf-footed Bug, family Coreidae in the order Hemiptera, or "True Bugs." You can see the "leaf" on the left leg. Here is a photo of <a href=http://www.origins.tv/entomology/threebugs600a.jpg>3 different Leaf-footed Bugs</a> from my yard (these are preserved specimens). The one on the left is very close to the species you photographed. There are very many species in this group. Just today I had another species climbing the wall of my house just before dusk. This makes at least my <a href=http://www.origins.tv/entomology/leaffooted400.jpg>4th species</a> in the last month or so since I began photographing insects here in Maryland.
