Estimating Numbers of Terrestrial Birds

I thought you would be interested to know that "Estimating Numbers of
Terrestrial Birds," edited by C. John Ralph and J. Michael Scott, has
just been brought back into print by The Blackburn Press, making it
available to libraries, scholars, researchers, ecologists and field
ornithologists who would like to own or replace a copy of an
invaluable reference.

"Estimating Numbers of Terrestrial Birds," edited by C. John Ralph and
J. Michael Scott, hardcover, ISBN 1-930665-77-6, 630 pages.
For more information, see:

This volume remains a primary source of information on censuses of
birds and other animals, and it is frequently quoted in the primary
literature of today. Since this volume went out of print some six
years ago, demand has markedly increased for copies, which are
essentially unavailable.

"Estimating Numbers of Terrestrial Bird," compiles the extensive
proceedings of a 1980 meeting in Asilomar, California, of biologists
and statisticians who had gathered together to examine the methods and
assumptions used in estimating bird numbers. It was first issued in
1981 as a publication of the Cooper Ornithological Society.

The Blackburn Press is a relatively new publishing company, founded
with the mission of keeping in print and available for purchase at
reasonable prices book titles that larger publishers have lost
interest in and have declared to be "out of print." It specializes in
scientific and technical books and textbooks that are classics in
their field.
