The world is not perfect, including U.S. management of its water resources. Even with regulation, damaging practices continue in many lakes, rivers, and coastal waters. This is mostly due to commercial (or other) enterprises skirting regulations, or because political lobbying has weakened recommended restrictions. Look beyond the paycheck. It is more than "obvious".
