NORTHWEST FOR MEDITATION DURING LUNAR ECLIPSE

NORTHWEST FOR MEDITATION DURING LUNAR ECLIPSE
Northwest for meditation during lunar eclipse

Moon is a cosmic mirror reflecting the karmic pattern on
mother earth by absorbing the karma's energy from surya's
splendour. Both the sun and moon demonstrate the law of
karmaphal (cause and effect of human actions) around
which revolves the phenomenon of life cycle on earth
called mrityulok.

In vedic astrology, sun in transit through 12 rashis, 27
nakshatras and 12 bhavas of cosmic zodiac indicates
spiritual progress of jeevatman (soul) in various human
births and rebirths while moon reflects three subtle
aspects of human brain ie intellect, wisdom and
sensitivity, which it receives from consciousness in the
form of paksha-bal (strength of prarabdh) at the time of
birth. Moon governs the brain of earthy mortals which
connects the body with soul. Brain creates your world
according to destiny.

Moon's journey from new moon to full moon indicates the
fulfilment of karmyoga in the life. Full moon's
brilliance reflects the divine ecstacy of moksha which
seems to attract mrityulok only to demonstrate the brain
potential of which we remain unaware in the illusion of
tamsic ego (lethargy, sloth and evil). It eclipses our
brain (moon) and consciousness (sun) to prevent their
union (enlightenment).

In heaven's zodiac, the movement of two dark shadows
(rahu and ketu) at the intersection of the orbits of the
sun and moon, against the movement of navgrahas, create a
vortex of attachment and detachment on earth. According
to Vishnu Puran, rahu and ketu are the two halves of the
immortal demon who became dangerous after consuming
amrit. Their head was chopped off by Mahavishnu's
sudarshan chakra and since then the two parts of the
deadly demon are revolving against time, around the
mrityulok, creating conflicts in the area of freewill of
earthy mortals. Lunar and solar eclipses depict the same
phenomenon in heavens. Normally, the moon gets eclipsed
whenever it comes near rahu or ketu on the full moon
night.

Year 2003-04 (samvat 2060) is to observe two lunar
eclipses. The chandra grahan on May 16 occurred in
daytime and was not visible in India. The second lunar
eclipse takes place on November 9 of kartik poornima
between 5.02 am to 8.24 am and will be visible in many
parts of India. Lunar eclipses are considered
inauspicious as they affect the karmic pattern of humans
according to moon's placement in their birth charts.
Babies born under chandra grahan run the risk of mental
ailments during their life span. On November 9, in the
agni-mandal of zodiac, (Aries sign) rahu will start
consuming moon at 5.02 am in the Libra lagna. Mars, as
lord of Aries, harbours marak tatwa for Libra and so from
the 5th house (progeny), it will affect the 8th house
(sudden ailments), 11th house (earning) and 12th house
(loss, hospitalisation) indicating more abortions, heart
attacks, hospitalisation, rise in blood pressure, loss in
speculation and possible violence on earth. This eclipse
will not be inauspicious for those who were born with
their moons in Gemini, Cancer, Scorpio and Aquariaus
signs while others are advised not to view this
spectacle.

Tips for November 9 lunar eclipse

1. The parvkaal of kartik poornima chandra grahan will
begin at 5.02 am and will last for three hour 32 minutes
ie till 8.34 am. Vedas recommend not to eat anything
during this period.

2. In Vaastu chakra of your home, moon governs the
northwest corner (vaayu kon). During parvkaal, Vaastu
recommends moon worship by chanting Om Chandraya Namah
(108 times) for spiritual upliftment.

There exists a deep tranquility in the lustre of full
moon. After the grahan, moon's divine power increases.
Vaastu also recommends midnight meditation on pratipada
(night of Nov 9).

In the brilliance of midnight moon, just open your heart
and let your eyes be filled with the moon's nectar into
your whole being.
