Re: Prediction vs Prophecy (was Re: Min's Home Page)

It is hard to tell also if prophecies are self-fulfilling or not. If
one predicts that they will fail in life or they are cursed by some
twisted magick, then perhaps there mind will create that prophecy for
them in many ways. Who is to say if someone will be inspired by the
biblical end time prophecies or how many have been and actually
fulfill them out of some psychotic complex. On the other hand I
believe that prediction and prophecy however you want to talk about it
is a very real phenomena. The subconscious mind interprets patterns
in nature in ways we can't comprehend consciously. The calculations
it does for instance when you play basketball, there is advanced
calculus going on that people only need to be aware of at a near
subconscious level. Isn't it possible that there is a great pattern
to the whole universe that the mind can pick up on somehow? Perhaps
sometime all it would take is a little inspiration from a certain
change and the mind could calculate how that event would cause
butterfly effect ripples throughout the world. Some of these events
are more important than others of course. I know I certainly pick up
on things, especially when doing subconscious tasks or sleeping.
