Thanks Bjoern. I had a look but it seems to have minimalist
answers. I just had another go on Google and came up with
these which look promising, but I haven't had a chance to
read them yet.

Previously I had been reading this but it assumes a lot more
than I know and would be useless for Jim:

I'm really looking to understand the role of Ni56 in the light
curve and perhaps understand what progenitor characteristics
might affect the stretch factor 's' that Goldhaber defines.
Basic stuff no doubt but I'm completely new to this area.
