I've had the good fortune to see it with two or three different 
telescopes (none of them mine, as I don't own one yet), and it 
really is a very cool object to observe!  A couple of times on
excellent moonless nights when it did really good passes, I 
have managed to see it with my 10x50 binoculars as a tiny, 
faint fuzzy blob with occasional flashes from the end masses.
