How does it differ from other planets? Could it really be a large asteroid? TELESCOPE VIEWING...9:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Members of the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society and LSU Astronomers support telescope viewing, weather permitting. SATURDAY, September 20 HOT AIR BALLOONS...10:00 am. How do hot-air balloons float so easily? Build your own hot-air balloon and learn what makes them fly in this fun class for children ages 7 and up. Class is free and held from 10:00 - 11:00 am. NATURE ENCOUNTER...1:00 pm. Sponsored by La. Delta Service Corps and Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. The BREC-LSU-BRAS Highland Road Park Observatory is also home to two very unique nature trails and has developed a Nature Encounter program around them. The program includes a 1:00 pm. presentation led by an area naturalist followed by a one hour guided hike through our quarter-mile trail at 2:00 pm.
