How was the Vinland Map cartography of the Old World copied from the Andrea Bianco map with different scales in different areas, and trapezoidal distortions of shape throughout. And while we're on the subject, why was the portion of Africa below the page gutter not copied? I can think of one very good and simple reason for all these phenomena- but it's not a medieval reason, so I want somebody else to supply one (or several, if need be). If nobody can, then this is pretty convincing evidence that the Vinland Map is a fake. David B
