Re: Parallels - More Beard Counts:

On Tue, Dec 2, 2003, 1:24pm (CST+6), a cave dweller posted more of his
foolishness here in his continuing attempt to deceive you.
===================
He, now: ~~ This isn't a game, although you seem to be just playing. I'm
waiting for references for the non Pharaonic beards. The beards you
referenced that I checked in Clayton were false beards. Your response
said, among other things, " I have avoided false vs. real as far as
beards is concerned, since it is immaterial to the results and
significance of my beard counts."
You say that out of 242 bearded Egyptians you counted, few were
Pharaohs. Ok, who were they? Give us references that can be checked. As
I've said, priests sometimes wore beards as a sign of mourning. But the
fact remains, beards were unusual in Egyptian society.
And you count is simply of the books you have, not of any sort of survey
of the art we actually have, so the figures are if accurate (and they
aren't) simply of the books you have access to. ~~
---------
+++ If this is not a game, why does dweller respond like an elementary
school student rather than like a scholar??????
Rather than deal with my beard counts rationally, he simply makes
unsupported claims and insists that I do his research for him.
- As I made my seven beard counts on the Egyptian beards, I posted the
complete reference to each book and the count for each book.
- Anyone wishing to check my counts can go to those same books.
Alternately, he can go to other books and arrive at about the same
totals. Regardless of such results, it should be obvious to anyone
familiar with Egyptian history that the Egyptians had many beards. That
is all that is significant here. +++
        Regards, Larry Athy, P.E.
