Re: Controversial dates at Pedra Furada of 53,000 BCE

No I have no sources for a really objective look at this site. 

The dates are really out of kilter with all other New World dates and
whether or not this charcoal can be proven to be man made will draw a
lot of scrutiny.

Dillehay had textiles, human footprints, housing material and other
proofs for Monte Verde which make his dates true.

The Perada Furada proof still lacks enough substance to convince the
scientific community of its veracity I think.

My mind is open always and anything is possible but for such an
extraordinary date, you need more substantial proof. 

And it boggles the mind who these folks would be at 54,000 BCE in
Brazil.
