I did a similar thing long ago... I dumped 6 danios in a tank to cycle it... before I knew what and how to do it correctly.... And I too ended up with danios with red spots behind their gills... Asked some smart ppl and was told that is ammonia burn... and that because my water wasn't cycled, the ammonia burned their gills... I asked whatelse can cause this, they listed the sudden change in water chemistry, nitrIte and ammonia are the number 1 reasons, but if you re-arranged the tank, ammonia spike is possible... <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > I've noticed a small red blotch on my Kuhli, near his gills.
