Hi Heather Sometimes old tank syndrome can be reversed by both reseeding the sand bed and dropping the nitrates so the bed and denitrifers can recover. AZ-NO3 will drop the nitrates back to zero in around 30 days per 100ppm of nitrates and probably take care of the algae problem as well.
