Help! I am the proud owner of 2 hens-a Rhode Island Red and a Plymouth Rock hen. I have had them for about 4 months now. I must be doing ok with them as they seem quite content. Yesterday, I noticed my Rhode Island Red is not acting herself. She spent most of the day on her nesting box and when I went in to the coop to remove her to see if she was ok, she stood for a minute, POOFED out her feathers really big, made a few noises, and returned to the nesting box. She spent all night in her nesting box. She didn't eat much yesterday and when I watched her drink some water, she spit it right back out. Today, she was laying in the dirt, feathers still very POOFY, still making noises. She ate some snacks I took out today but still does not seem herself. I am afraid she is sick and I am going to lose her. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with her? I am worried about her. The other hen is fine, no problems. I think she is getting a little lonely though because her friend isn't spending any time with her. Will someone please help!!!? The Rabbi Stiffkugel ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
