Thanks for the suggestion, Mark. I'm concerned, though, that poisoning would leave a mouldy mess and I'd still have to pull the boards. I'm in So. Calif. We've had some night temps to 32f, with daytime highs in the high 50s. The bees appear when the sun comes up. I think these bees number less than 100 altogether. This is not like the huge aggressive swarms in trees that I remember from growing up in the Midwest. Actually more of a 'gang' than a 'mob'. D.
