I have an idea to a whele bar, with a small Bicycle whell and the front as a fork like a forklift but not that heavy constucted. Alternative you have to involve another beekeeper in this Job. Doing it alone will break your back. By the way If you can lift the hive then you also can load it on a normal wheel bar and then use an extra stip to get is stable on this. > but far enough to make it un-viable to move them 2m at a time to the new > location. If I moved them 150ft.....what is the worst that would happen? Move the hive at dusk when the bees has stopped flying, then dig up a bush and plant it in front of the hive. In the morning when the bees get out the bush will confuse the bees, and they will start a new orientation flight. You might loose a few hundred bees, but thats the price to pay. The lost bees will try to beg their way into another hive. -- Best regards Jorn Johanesson visit http://apimo.dk for beekeeping software and other beekeeping stuff.
