MOST deltas stall very gently. In fact, ANY low aspect ratio wing does. Lower the aspect ratio, the gentler the stall. This creates a handling problem as pilot may not realize he is on back side of lift curve (also sometimes called back side of power curve, or region of reversed control). If the aircraft is in this region (past point of max CL) continued aft stick causes lift to decrease, craft to sink more rapidly. Only way to get out of it is to LOWER nose, counter-intuitive. Old Pacer and Tri-Pacer were like this. Much less stall warning then J-3, Super Cub or Cruiser. So gentle stall can actually bring about worse handling problems than a sharp but strong-warning one. -- Don Stauffer in Minnesota [EMAIL PROTECTED] webpage- http://www.usfamily.net/web/stauffer
