I posted the following to one related group yesterday, and wanted to follow up to all the groups I moderate today. Overnight my system received somewhat in excess of 300 megabytes worth of this newest virus. I say somewhat because I don't know yet how bad it was; I am still trying to clear enough of it out to get mail working properly again. As far as I am aware no mail / group postings have been lost, but it could be much much later today before anything starts flowing in the newsgroups. I am currently unable to process incoming messages, though they are being delivered ok. My appologies for this delay. I am looking at connecting up a spare 28 gig RAID array I have lying around to the system which processes the newsgroup posts, or moving the replacement system (which is here and has been being configured and tested slowly for the last couple of months) into production sooner. However, I need to fix things on the existing system and configuration first, and that may take all day.
