Does this > sound like the symptoms of a bad videocipher module? > > Ray > More likely, a poor connection between the VCII+ board and the receiver. Try this. Unplug the receiver. If the rear cover is still attached (metal plate held onto the back with 3 small phillips screws) remove it. Once the cover is off, pull the VCII+ module out about 2" (the module will be red or purple plastic, with 2 tabs on the bottom you can use to pull it out). Now, plug it back in with a good solid push, firmly seating it back into the receiver. Plug the receiver back in and try it. If it works, you're solid. If not, unplug the receiver again and completely remove the module. Once you have it out, look at the edge connector (front of the module, a gold edged computer card like device). Use a pencil eraser to clean the gold connectors edges of the card. Get it nice and shiny. Then put it back in, firmly seated and plug it back in to power. That should cure 99% of the problems associated with scrambled channels not coming in. Chuck
