No, the receivers have completely different codes. They are both Hughes but one is a TiVo (HDVR2) and the other is a standard recevier (GCEB0). > If so, there is a way to make the remote control only one receiver at a > time, involving the use of polarizing film. I can explain if needed. Interesting! I'd love to know how to do that, although I don't need to do it right now. If it's a simple explanation, please shoot. > If not, then the remote would have to be designed to allow two separate > satellite codes, and it's quite likely that it's not. Yes, some button presses (Guide, etc.) always lights the original satellite button. But the manual specifically states that you can convert the VCR key for control of a second sat receiver. > You can get around this with a different universal remote, like a JP1 > capable one (http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/) THANKS LENROC!! Wow, that JP1 stuff looks cool. I've always been annoyed with the limitations of most universal remotes and wanted programmability. I haven't had a chance to read everything at that site, but can I assume that if a remote has the 6-pin interface then I can program it? I remember seeing that on this particular remote and being suspicious that I was missing out on something.
