Re: First time subscriber... not happy with DirecTV picture quality.

After reading all the posts, I went home last night and started looking for
some of the problems that others have posted.



Using the RF between the DTV and TV I do see picture quality problems.  I
would not consider it the only reason  not go with DTV over Dish network.
Using the S-video connection I saw improvement in the picture color.
Sharpness improved.  (Noticeable mainly  when looking at small text on the
screen.)



I swapped out the Dish Network PVR about a month ago for the DTV with Tivo
unit.

Only reason for this was the Dish Network does not provide MLB and DTV does.





I do not see a noticeable difference of picture quality between the two
services (using the S-video output on both units). I also like the options
on the DTV/Tivo unit much better than the Dish Network PVR unit.  And it
took me about 30 minutes to realize I really like the option of watching one
show while recording another. Now the wife is happy so I am happy.
