Network TV to Cable TV to VCR Technology and now to DVD technology and
who knows someday soon it maybe something like a super HDTV computer
storage chip (like TIVO only can have 1000's of films,tv shows
pictures on a single system at no cost and so on) or even some form of
3-D storage technology?

But the fact is that the DVD is the first technological format that
gives the home viewer
the ability to see what they like, when they like, as many times as
they like, and all without the replacement costs of VCR tapes (when
they wear out) or the fees of cable or dish television!

In fact as I think on it this DVD format could be considered to be in
the same class as the early 45's.

Which as they first came out gave the listening public their first
chance to listen to the songs they wanted to hear without having to
wait to hear it on the radio and or to have to go out and buy a whole
album for one or two songs

Also I can remember that 45's stuck around a long time into the
8-Track (some would say outlasted that format) and then into the
Cassette age and it only really started to die out when the CD came
into its own!
