Louise, just put it under a beer or donate it to the local blood

I do 99c eBay stuff all the time, for a couple reasons:

1) There's an environmentalist, feel-good, recycling aspect: rather than
throwing this disc (deservedly) into a dumpster, it can go into someone
else's collection where it might be a little more appreciated.

2) Every now and then you find something that just takes off. My wife is
big into romance novels (yeah, I know...) and when there's some that she
doesn't want anymore I put them on eBay. Some sell for 99c, many not at
all, but every now and then there's a "hot" one that goes for $10-$20.
There was recently an old beer can that someone listed and ended up
selling for like $20,000. I haven't had anything that wild, but there
have been a few items where I've been pleasantly surprised.

3) I find selling on eBay to be fun, even if the sale is only 99c. As
long as it retains that "fun" factor, there's an intangible reward in
doing it. Clearly, if one is running eBay as a business, this is
irrelevant, but for an individual, it's a consideration.

Fair enough. I'm also an avid environmentalist, in that I've not contributed to the contents of a landfill for over ten years. But, I'm also a simplist. I like things that are simple, and recycling anything is always simple when I just give it away. If something turns out to actually have any monetary value afterwards, then Merry Christmas to them.
