If you are not interested in making copies, then just buy a dvdrom drive,
and not a dvd burner drive...dvdrom drives are as inexpensive as $25-$30US
these days....

Very few dvds have commercials at the beginning, Disney seems to be the
biggest culprit to date.  Most movies are authored so you can't easily skip
the previews or commercials, but most can be passed by a simple stop or skip
command to jump to the film itself.
