Firstly apologies if this is posted to the wrong newsgroup - I checked the content of the other rec.video.dvd but this seems the most appropriate. Last Christmas my wife bought me The 10th Kingdom boxed 3-dvd set. The box sticker states NTSC Region Code 2 (I am in the UK btw). It was some time - about 3 months or so - before I finally sat down and tried to watch it. When I did all I was able to see was a 'Not PAL' message in the top rh corner of the screen. The dvd player I use is a Toshiba SD2109. Not really knowing much about them I just assumed it was the wrong region code and due to the time since it was bought I just put it aside to collect dust. My interest was renewed last week when a friend mentioned simple dvd-player hacks are possible but having now looked into it I'm not sure this is the problem as it is the correct region code. I assume the player is fine as I can play other region 2 dvd's. Any idea of what may be wrong?
