Not at all. Your mistake is assuming the laws are identical everywhere in
the world. You do realise there are other countries, don't you? I can borrow
a CD from a friend, make a copy on a CDR, and be in full compliance with the
copyright law I'm subject to.

No, why should it? Neither I nor my attorney work for any government. Neither of us care a lot about what government documents say. If a judge accepts our case, it goes to trial, regardless of which country the defendant is in.

I'm not above the law. What you can't get through your head is the whole
world isn't subject to US law. There are other ways of doing things.

Yes, there are many ways to accomplish certain things, and my attorney is aware of most of them. Who said anything about U.S. law?
