It will copy two hours worth of video to DVD-R in :about 35 minutes. It will copy 2 hours to DVD-RAM in about 25 :minutes. The term "1X speed" does not directly relate to the playing time of the recorded program. A "1X" recorder can completely fill a 4.7 GB disk in 1 hour. A "4X" recorder could transfer that same 4.7 GB in 15 minutes. If your E80 is copying 2 hours of video to DVD-R in 35 minutes, then that video must have been recorded on the HDD in LP mode. You are filling half of a DVD-R disk in that 35 minutes, and that equates to "1X" writing speed. That's the way my E80 behaves regardless of the speed of the DVD-R media I am using (1X, 2X, or 4X). When writing to DVD-RAM, the E80 can fill a 4.7 GB disk in 30 minutes, which equates to 2X speed. -- Bob Nichols AT interaccess.com I am "rnichols"
