Well, because the guy at the shop (supposedly an official *Sony* 
dealer!) was showing off the latest plasma tv using a Sonicblue DVD 
player! When I asked him what kind of player was that he started telling 
me how marvelous it is and why I should buy that instead of a Sony one! 
(does the Sony importer realize this is happening??). Admittedly the 
picture looked go though ...
