Would a citiation and a link to the document on the government
site shut you up?
No, why should it? Neither I nor my attorney work for any government.
Neither of us care a lot about what government documents say.
You asked me to show you how I was exempt from copyright law.
Since you're not exempt, I never asked any such thing.
I offered to
show you how I was allowed to make copies of a friend's CDs completely
legally *according to* copyright law. If you don't want to see the Copyright
Office's page, you're both asking for proof and rejecting it at the same
time. I don't know how it works in your part of the world, but the Copyright
Office *is* part of the government around here, and the copyright act is a
government document as well as a legal document. You must have either a
remarkably good or remarkably bad attorney if he or she doesn't care what
legal documents say.
You're welcome to drag out whatever documents you want, I really don't
care what they say. Whatever it is they say is not my business, rather
it's my attorney's business - and maybe, some day, yours as well.
One question... Were you one of Nixon's minions back in '72?
I don't follow foreign politics.
I do, and learning from the mistakes of others is often helpful.
You don't follow foreign laws apparently, and you seem willing to learn from
everyone's mistakes but your own. You're wrong yet you refuse the clear and
obvious evidence. I guess it *is* one way to be right all the time.
Clearly you're not paying attention, so tattoo this on your hynie if you
have to.... I don't care what crap you think supports your position -
it's my attorney that cares - that's why I pay her. I don't concern
myself with the bloody details of law, it's not my problem. But I won't
hesitate to make it someone else's problem if my legal staff can
convince a judge to accept a case. Now is not the moment you need to
concern yourself with, later is where your attention should be focused
on. Got it?
Yes, there are many ways to accomplish certain things, and my attorney
is aware of most of them. Who said anything about U.S. law?
You said I had to be outside of the law to legally make copies of borrowed
CDs.
I said no such thing. Please try to keep up.
That's not true so you must be limiting yourself to your local law.
I don't limit myself to any particular law. That's the judge's business.
It
simply follows because if you knew the law I was subject to, you wouldn't
have made such an incorrect assumption.
I don't need to know the law, that's our attorney's business.
If you want to keep yelling about how you're right and I'm wrong when I'm
willing to provide citiations to copyright law and you refuse to listen,
have at it. I have no time for anyone who sticks their fingers in their ears
and screams to avoid hearing the truth.
Cite whatever you want Rick, nobody's going to care until the verdict is
in. For some strange reason, you seem to think waving some papers
around protects you from copyright infringement suits. Clue: I'll sue
anyone I want any time I want, all you have to do is produce an attorney
that can successfully defend your silly ass. If I get you into a
courtroom, your silly ass is going to need defending - for the next ten
years if that's what it takes. Eating beans during this time won't be
my problem, it'll be yours. Afterwards, if I lose, you're welcome to
file a counter suit, and we'll start again with fresh dance cards. Go
ahead, make my year.
