Although the DMR-Exx series comes with one DVD-RAM non-cartridge disk,
accessories include the cartridge type discs as well. It's just
cheaper for them to include a free non-cartridge disk. I primarily use
cartridge type disks myself in both my Panasonic recorder and my PC
burner.
