Another less cynical way of looking at it is that another superior format will be developed (because it's not like they have that new format sitting on the shelf, just waiting a few more years so they can milk you), and at that time you will have the choice (not be forced - who's forcing you?) to upgrade to that format or not. Obviously you'd have to buy the players and media if you want to upgrade to that format, but it's actually just a normal development cycle, not a conspiracy. Of course, maybe you think all this stuff has existed since the 1950s, and this is their way of getting the most money out of you as possible. Damn, if only they'd let their 3D TV out of the bag in the 80s when they should have! Mike
