I burned a few discs and lost one to 4x. They burned and verified
successfully, but the NEC will not recognize them now nor allow me to try
them out. They would only burn a data discs, claiming the MPEG1 from
MPack software on the Macintosh was not compatible w/ NERO DVD Movie
making?

NEC never wrote. NERO hasn't yet either.

I don't think I will try a firmware upgrade to 1.08 until I know why it
refises to see DVD discs. CD & CD-R appear OK, playback, transfer, etc.
