There is some good advice from Brenda Ann regarding signal amplifcation on an antenna. Nothing can replace a good antenna, not even amplification. An amplifier will simply amp whatever it sees as it's input. This includes reflections from nearby buildings, mountains, etc. A properly positioned multi-element antenna will provide a great deal of gain. I suggest you focus on getting clean signal to start out with and leave amplification as a secondary measure. My personal research reveals a roof mounted yagi antenna will yeild the best results. There is tons of antenna info available on the web and I do not purport to be an antenna specialist. It is impossible to predict how a given antenna will function in your specific situation. Even the experts would agree on this. But you should be able to get a good idea of what will work best for you. If you don't want cable, then don't cut corners on your antenna system and expect a quality picture. weithrino "lbbs" <lbbs @dadffo.ca> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > I am trying to improve my TV signal. right now I have an old (made in > 1995) amplifier that is connected to an TV antenna (aprox 25ft high) mounted > on my house.
