No, many cable companies provide stereo and sap thru the RF cable. Simply hook the cable directly to the stereo tuner (not through the cable box) and you will get stereo if the cable company is providing it for that channel. This also includes sat channels (MTV, VH-1) if the cableco re-does the stereo for MTS. as always YMMV. Try it, it's free. ;-)
