Low-tech system set-up

I'm getting rid of my cable television account (budget cuts) and I have a
few questions about how to adapt my low-tech system so I can tune in local
channels and also record them to VHS.

Limitations - I have an older television set with only one co-ax input; no
composite video in/out or RCA audio in/out.

I need tips on selecting a good antenna, and a description of what I can do
(if anything) to interconnect my television and VCR so I can record the
local channels received by the antenna.
