There are a lot of things that can be taught at a travel agent school 
that are important. Geography, sales skills and so forth, but there is 
one huge problem, the sales side of the industry is shrinking faster 
than saran wrap in a microwave.

Yes you can make good money if you have the right contacts, but if you 
have the contacts  I can teach you what you need to know to ge started 
in a few hours. Knowledge is power, but the important knowledge is your 
being known by people who travel.

That said the more technical aspect of travel sales is in selling 
airline tickets and making hotel and car reservations in a corporate 
setting. This used to be lucrative and did require some training. It is 
now something that costs the company money (though there are still some 
revenues flowing in the pipes back to some agencies)

My advice. Reading this note took too much time out of your life, find 
another job and then travel on your own budget.
